NEW ORLEANS, LA, June 14, 2019 - Tales of the Cocktail Foundation (TOTCF) is pleased to announce the winner of Tales of the Cocktail® 2019 Official Cocktail Competition. The Foundation congratulates Robin Wolf of The Hatch Rotisserie & Bar on her imaginative Night Gardens cocktail. This year’s Tales of the Cocktail theme is “Cultivate” which reflects the Foundation’s goal to actively engage partners and participants through thought leadership and foster meaningful connections within the hospitality industry.


“It is such an honor to have my cocktail selected as the ‘Official Cocktail’ of Tales of the Cocktail® 2019,” shared Wolf. “This year’s Tales of the Cocktail® theme, Cultivate, is such an important touchstone of our industry. Be it cultivating connections, concepts or components, I am always richer after Tales than when I arrived. I truly believe that the care and passion we put into our work can elevate our efforts and cultivate exceptional moments. I am looking forward to seeing everyone this year.”

2019 OCC Winner Robin Wolf

Wolf will receive a $1,000 cash prize and be honored at Tales of the Cocktail 2019 for reinventing a classic. Wolf’s Night Gardens cocktail will also be named the ‘Official Cocktail’ of Tales of the Cocktail 2019 and featured at the Toast to Tales on Tuesday, July 16.


Night Gardens

Recipe:

  • 2 oz Suntory Toki Whisky
  • 1/2 oz Jasmine Tea Syrup*
  • Top with Q Club Soda

Recipe for Jasmine Tea Syrup:*

Mix equal parts cane sugar and hot jasmine tea.

Brew the tea strong

1/2 cup dried jasmine to 4 cups water, steeped for 15 minutes and reheated to melt sugar (turning it into a 1:1 simple syrup)


Method:

Pour 2 oz. Suntory Toki Whisky over ice in Highball glass

Add Jasmine Tea Syrup and top with Q Club Soda

Gently stir with bar spoon.

Express lemon rind over top and around edges of glass.

Garnish with lemon.
