Brandy Crusta
The Brandy Crusta was a groundbreaking drink when created by bartender Joseph Santini in the early 1850s. The drink is the first to use a sugared rim, and the first known to mix citrus and brandy. It’s also the the house specialty at the sophisticated Jewel of the South, a new enterprise headed by barman Chris Hannah in an old creole cottage. Pro tip: Show up soon after opening to get a seat at the compact bar.
