After visiting Wild Turkey’s distillery last fall, Lana Gailani of Denver, Colorado was inspired to create this cocktail.
“This cocktail is in honor of Jimmy Russell’s long tenure as a distiller. It’s also a little bit unconventional, as it includes citrus in a stirred cocktail. It’s dark, richly spiced, with a bitter herbaceous edge, and just a tiny lift from the lemon.”
- 1 oz Wild Turkey 101 Rye
- 1 oz Luxardo Amaro Abano
- 0.25 oz Angostura bitters
- 1 Tsp demerara syrup (2:1)
- 1 Tsp lemon juice
- 4-6 mint leaves
Directions: Add all ingredients to a stirring vessel. Stir, strain, and serve on large rock with mint sprig garnish.
