Tales of the Cocktail®, the world’s premier cocktail festival, held its 14th Annual celebration in New Orleans July 19-24, 2016. This year’s event showcased a record-breaking 318 total events throughout the weeklong festival. What’srnmore impressive is the economic impact Tales of the Cocktail has on the city of New Orleans.
This year, Tales of the Cocktail generated a record $15.8 million impact on the New Orleans economy and an additional $1.2 million in state and local tax revenue, an increase of more than $200,000.

Since 2008, the New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society (NOCCPS), the non-profit organization that produces Tales of the Cocktail, has partnered with the University of New Orleans Research Department to generate an annual economic impact report. From 2008 to 2016, Tales of the Cocktail® has generated a total impact of $101.2 million on the local and regional economies.

In addition to Tales of the Cocktail’s economic impact on New Orleans, proceeds from Tales of the Cocktail’s annual events benefit the New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society (NOCCPS), a non-profit organization dedicating to supporting and growing the international cocktail community. As Tales of thernCocktail® grows, so too does NOCCPS’s ability to fund educational programs like the Cocktail Apprentice Scholarship Fund, the Apprentice Aid Medical Fund, a new health initiative for New Orleans service industry workers and several other special projects and initiatives throughout the year. This year along, NOCCPS gave out eight B.A.R. 5-Day Scholarships and spent approximately $206,000 supporting the Cocktail Apprentice Program.
