ATC Guidelines

Alcohol Tobacco Commission (ATC) Guidelines Tales of the Cocktail® 2023

Do you have distribution in Louisiana?

Yes – Great!

If you are hosting a tasting room, participating in Meet the Distllers or other tasting event taking place at The Ritz-Carlton, your sponsorship package will detail how your product is supplied for your activation.

For all events taking place at The Ritz-Carlton (excluding seminars), you will be sent a form to order all of the products you will need. Tales of the Cocktail Foundation will work directly with your local distributor to place your order.

If you are a sponsor of a seminar, Alex Smith will be in contact with you regarding what product is needed and the quantities. Alex will place the order with the local distributor.

For “By Invitation Only” and “Dining & Drinking” events, you must work with the venue or licensed caterer to order your product.

No – No problem!

Please click here to see a list of local brokers/distributors who have expressed interest in speaking with brands who do not currently have representation in Louisiana.

Distribution must be secured on or before May 16th, 2023 to be included in the event permits.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR ALL EVENTS

Product Procurement Policy

  • Alcoholic beverage manufacturers (Suppliers) are strictly prohibited from shipping alcoholic beverages directly to retail dealers or consumers in Louisiana. Prior to shipping/bringing any quantity of alcoholic beverages into Louisiana, Suppliers must obtain a permit from the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control. Additionally, Suppliers can only distribute their product in Louisiana through a Louisiana-licensed alcoholic beverage wholesale dealer. All sponsors must place product orders on or before May 1, 2023, so they can be shipped to the distributor in time. Suppliers will no longer be allowed to self-supply any product for Ticketed or Tasting Room events on the Tales of the Cocktail schedule. To ensure full compliance with the Louisiana Office of ATC’s Special Event laws and regulations, the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation must purchase all product used at “For Purchase” Ticketed Events and Tasting Rooms. All receipts and or permits must be on-premises in case of inspection.
  • It is the responsibility of all participating alcoholic beverage suppliers and distributors to ensure full compliance with the Louisiana special event and trade practice regulations. Failure to do so could result in action against your permit, up to revocation. Additional information about the Louisiana alcoholic beverage control laws and regulations is available here.

Solicitation Policy

  • All non-sponsoring suppliers are prohibited from soliciting at Tales of the Cocktail. Soliciting includes distributing literature, catalogs, or brochures anywhere on-premise at The Ritz-Carlton or off-site official events. Any person found soliciting at the event will be immediately escorted from the event and credentials removed if applicable. Tales of the Cocktail Foundation partners are prohibited from soliciting on-site at The Ritz-Carlton outside of their allocated time or location or in public areas of the hotel.
