Carousel Bar
214 Royal Street
New Orleans, LA

Vieux Carre
The Carousel Bar sits off the the lobby of the Monteleone Hotel. It seats just 25 at its circular revolving bar, which competes a circuit every 15 minutes. The drink — a stiff pour that’s generally something of a Sazerac spinoff — was created by bartender Walter Bergeron in the 1930s. Pro tip: Arrive at the bar’s opening at 11 a.m. if you want a seat at the carousel.
