What does the TOTC23 theme, ‘vitalize’ mean to your brand?
The definition itself, “to give strength and energy to,” is precisely what Tales of the Cocktail means to not only the La Gran Familia Bacardi but the entire industry. We plan our year around TOTC because the festival reminds us of what we love about cocktail culture– the people, the passion, the attention to detail– and pushes the boundaries for what our industry can accomplish.
What are your top 5 tips for attending Tales of the Cocktail?
There are plenty of dos and don’ts at Tales of the Cocktail, but the five we reiterate each year are the following:
- Consume one glass of water to each alcoholic beverage.
- Tales is a marathon, not a sprint.
- If you see a vegetable, eat it. Who knows when you may encounter another.
- Stock up on water, snacks, and electrolytes.
- Look out for one another and help those first-time Tales friends navigate the week.
Which trends are you looking forward to exploring at Tales of the Cocktail?
We’re looking forward to experiencing the unique trends our bar partners have created to provide an amazing experience for those attending our events at Tales this year.

What are you looking forward to the most at Tales of the Cocktail?
People, people, people! We love that TOTC and New Orleans have created a space for our industry to come together and celebrate one another.
What is your most memorable event your brand has hosted at Tales of the Cocktail?
La Gran Familia Bacardi has had the pleasure of hosting many incredible events at Tales of the Cocktail but this year, we were inspired by Café Torino from Tales circa 2015. Sponsored by Martini & Rossi and Noilly Prat, the Portfolio brought a little piece of Torino to New Orleans. Café Torino served as a one stop shop for Italian espresso in the morning and Vermouth cocktails and apertivi in the afternoon while guests perused an installation from the Martini & Rossi and Noilly Prat Archive.
This year, drawing inspiration from Café Torino, we’re inviting Tales attendees to join us at the La Gran Familia Café. A 3-day immersive experience at Desire Oyster Bar featuring 6 of the Best Bars in the U.S.: Serenata, Double Chicken Please, Nickel City, Pacific Cocktail Haven, Lillistar, and Katana Kitten. Each day, two bars will collaborate under one roof to bring to life their own interpretation of the Café serving up an array of cocktails and surprises along the way.
