Four members of the Foundation’s Cocktail Apprentice Program® (CAP) are awarded scholarships for BAR® 5-Day Spirits & Mixology Certification Program

NEW ORLEANS, LA (October 19, 2022) Each year, Tales of the Cocktail Foundation offers members of its Cocktail Apprentice Program the opportunity to apply for an exclusive scholarship to participate in the BAR 5-Day Spirits & Mixology Certification Program. Following an extensive review of applicants by the current CAP White and Black Coats, the program’s most senior leaders, the Foundation is honored to announce this year’s 2022 scholarship recipients: Arianna Hone, Brittany Simons, Dylan Brentwood, and Themistoklis Kontodimas.

Each recipient will be awarded a scholarship valued at approximately $4,000 for tuition and travel expenses to attend the upcoming BAR 5-Day Spirits & Mixology Certification Program at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. This year, Maison Ferrand, one of the world’s premier producers of fine spirits, has partnered with Tales of the Cocktail Foundation to help support this year’s recipients in attending the program in New York. The CAP scholarship program is an ongoing effort to uplift and cultivate the international bartending community that Tales of the Cocktail Foundation has supported over the past years.

The extraordinary work of the CAPs during Tales of the Cocktail is exemplary, and none of us could carry out our plans without them,” said Guillaume Lamy, Managing Director of Maison Ferrand USA. “They are essential to the execution of Tales. We are so happy and proud to be able to give back to them through career support tools such as a grant to experience and partake in the Bar 5-Day.”

Cocktail Apprentice Program and BAR® 5-Day Spirits & Mixology Certification Program

In keeping with the Foundation’s tenets to Educate, Advance, and Support the spirits community, the Cocktail Appreciation Program (CAP) was founded to give talented bartenders the opportunity to hone their craft alongside industry professionals. Since starting the scholarship program, 48 former Cocktail Apprentices have participated in the BAR® 5-Day Program. Founded by six of the biggest names in the bartending industry – Dale DeGroff, Doug Frost, Steve Olson, F. Paul Pacult, Andy Seymour, and David Wondrich, the BAR® 5-Day Program has gained recognition as one of the top bartender training programs in the country.
