Dame Hall of Fame celebrates its ten-year anniversary and announces Kitty Amann and Tiffanie Barriere as Committee Co-Chairs.

NEW ORLEANS, LA (March 16, 2022) — Tales of the Cocktail Foundation (TOTCF) and the Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails (LUPEC) are pleased to announce the opening of the Dame Hall of Fame (DHOF) nomination period from March 16-March 30, 2022. An annual celebration of hospitality trail-blazers, Dame Hall of Fame honors select individuals who have made a unique and lasting impact on the accessibility and intersectionality of the cocktail community. This year, proudly celebrating ten years of mentorship and encouragement within the beverage and hospitality communities, DHOF will warmly welcome three new “Dames” — the U.S. Inductee Presented by Woodford Reserve, International Inductee Presented by Woodford Reserve, and the recipient of the Pioneer Award Presented by The Blend — to join the group of 42 current members. The tenth-annual Dame Hall of Fame Ceremony will take place during Tales of the Cocktail on July 29, 2022 at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, the conference’s host hotel.

“We are so proud to be entering our tenth year of Dame Hall of Fame, which has become one of the most revered recognitions of Tales of the Cocktail Foundation,” said TOTCF CEO Eileen Wayner. “The collective magnitude of the Dames is unparalleled, and it is truly our honor to gather such a talented group of individuals, while inducting newcomers who are making a lasting impact on the hospitality community.”

Introducing Dame Hall of Fame Co-Chairs

For the first time ever, DHOF has appointed two Co-Chairs who will each execute a two-year term that serves to benefit the program by providing structure and support within the organization. Dame Hall of Fame Co-Chairs will assist in reviewing Dame Hall of Fame nominations and utilize their position to engage and support the members of DHOF while promoting the program’s mission to recognize individuals who have made unique and lasting contributions to accessibility and intersectionality within the global hospitality industry.

DHOF proudly announces its two new Co-Chairs: Kitty Amann, a 2017 Dame Hall of Fame Inductee and LUPEC representative; and Tiffanie Barriere, bartender, influencer, educator, and 2020 Inductee. Kitty and Tiffanie will begin their terms as DHOF Co-Chairs immediately and oversee the 2022 nomination selection process.

Dame Hall of Fame Nomination Criteria and Selection Process

Dame Hall of Fame nominations are open to the public from March 16-30, 2022. Dedicated to making Dame Hall of Fame more inclusive to the LGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized groups within the global drinks industry, the Foundation and LUPEC have chosen to move towards the use of the word individual as opposed to “woman” to include non-binary individuals, the trans community, and all who are working for the accessibility and intersectionality of the drinks industry.

Nominations are encouraged on behalf of any inspirational and influential woman, non-binary individual, or trans person, and specific information about how this individual has made strides towards inclusivity or accessibility within the industry is requested within the nomination form.

The new U.S. and International inductees will be chosen by the Active Committee  Members of Dame Hall of Fame and evaluated based on the submitted statements. From these scores, the highest ranked individuals will be asked to submit a resume and bio; from there, the Dames will vote to select one U.S. and one International Inductee, who will be announced on July 12, 2022. This award recognizes an individual who has encouraged mentorship and contributed to making the hospitality industry equitable and inclusive by working to remove barriers as it pertains to gender identity, race, religion, and socioeconomic status.
